4K Ultra HD discs require a special laser to read them, so a regular DVD or Blu-ray player won't cut it. You'll need to pick up a dedicated 4K Ultra HD one instead to play the new disc.
Your existing collection of DVDs and Blu-rays will work on most 4K players, which can also enhance their image quality.
